IDEA FOR MODEL ANIMATION

Want t produce a movie clip of a beast appearing from the shadows... Idea could try using digital camera and a suitable model of a beast, take the shot and edit in photoshop to create the gradual appearance of shadow until the whole image has dissapeared. then take into flash and reverse the effect zoomed in on the creatures face so that it seems to come towards the camera out of the darkness!

Since completing my panda model in 3d Ive drawn my own character to model (front/side and back view) and so far so good however will take more care in my next drawing! Need to make sure the proportions are more accurate and stick with simple shapes with less detail!

Been playing with a free download called pencil... Love it!! creates animation from simple 2d sketches. Decided on a new project!

modelling - 3dmax

Pretty pleased with my first real attempt at modelling in 3d.

Created this little 3d character following an online tutorial for kung fu panda... Just needs his skin adding now!

Tutorials for the hols...

As mentioned before 3dmax was a bit of a shock to the system and I found the lessons at Uni more difficult to follow than some as I was totally unfamiliar with the software... This I intend to avoid in year II. So its important that I continue familiarising myself with max and also the soon to be introduced after effects program ahead of time. So starting today until September its back to studies and making the most of it. Not all work and no play though, the more I study the online tutorials and magazines of other artists work, the cooler I find it all and want to know more! its becoming a little addictive and more fun Im pleased to say.

A friend mentioned that I should check out Scott Pilgrim... originally a comic book - but soon to be adapted into a movie later this year! Bryan Lee O'Malley the creator has a very unique style and the movie trailers look interesting too! www.scottpilgrim.com

The Brilliant Design Lecture - Huddersfield!

Ok, been to the Brilliant Design Event in Huddersfield today... was very good. Was great to see how the speakers including Mr Bingo, made it into the industry. What inspired them and the glimpse into their world as professional designers and creators!

I think I found Jason Bruges, Rob Chiu and Mr Bingo's speeches and slides the most inspirational and interesting. Robs movies really made me want to include video and music in my animations. I imagined watching the film without sound and I don't think they would have been quite as affective. Lesson of the day... the right sound or music can change the way you view any images.

Jason Bruge - I liked the way he worked... the studio and all the gadgets, I would love to work in an environment like that... cant wait to have my own little space surrounded by all my favourite images, art books and stuff one day!

Mr Bingo - As he started out as an illustrator I could probably relate to him the most. Illustration is one of my strong points and it was nice to see someone who had developed his style to work for lots of different kinds of projects. Art for galleries, skateboards, animation and for websites...
